Well the water is getting warmer...73.....and the new house is almost ready... So, how about a "Fish and Stay" package?
Red snapper season opens June 1 and runs til July 14 in state waters, I have limited days available in June, but July is wide open. I have been doing a lot of catch and release Snapper trips this off-season and the size of the fish is amazing!! Its not uncommon to catch 20-30 Snappers over 10lbs and several in the 15-20lb class. I'm using spinning tackle and flat-lining frozen bait behind the boat on a slow drift...the bigger fish are well off the bottom, and they are the target. At the same time I'll have a live bait on another flat line with a balloon attached like a bobber for the Kings that typically show up.
Then, take that fish back to Margaritta Villa and grill it or fry it up...can't get much fresher than that!! You can check VRBO.com #471384 for info on Margaritta Villa dates, but prime weeks are available at 800.00 per week, that's only 114.00 a day for a 3/2 house, hotel rooms are 145-175 a nite!!! If you need a short get-away, rates are 145.00 for a 3 nite stay and I will give you a 5 hour fishing trip for the price of a 4 hour trip with a week long house rental...
that's a 100.00 savings if you book a fish and stay....
